Tips On How To Keep Your Skin Glowing In Winter
The cold winter weather can be extremely hard on our skin. Meaning we can go through a number of changes, including dryness, dehydration, which can in turn lead to cracking of the skin. Which looks and feels horrible!
Although there may be plenty of rain and snow on the ground. Winter weather actually has a lack of moisture in the air. We then go into warm rooms with fires and radiators, which can further add to the issues.
To keep a Glowy Babe sheen all year round, it is important to follow some of these tips.
Lock In Moisture
Probably the most obvious tip! However, also the most crucial one too. Your skin not only needs more moisture, but the right moisture at the right time. Make sure to apply a generous amount of moisturizer right after your shower and bath. The biggest tip is not to towel off complete. By leaving the skin fairly damp, and applying moisture to damp skin helps seal that dampness into the skin.
Protect From The Elements
Making sure your skin isn't exposed to the cold weather, is a great way to protect it. Prevension is definitely better than a cure. You should get used to wearing gloves and scarves to protect skin. Sunscreen is also very important as UV levels can be just as high. Especially if the snow is reflecting light from the ground.
Use a Facial Oil
Your face is one of the hardest places to protect, as we cannot keep it covered all the time. The best way to protect it, and lock in moisture is to use a facial oil. This will both moisturize and protect the skin completely. We would recommend a facial oil such as the Uniglow Skin Elixir from Jolie Beauty. It has a multitude of amazing ingredients such as Vitamin C, Vitamin A, Vitamin E, Collagen, Rosehip Seed Oil and Hyaluronic acid which makes it amazing for hydrating the skin in the winter months.
Drink More Water
The inside of your skin counts too! We tend to drink less water in the winter because our thirst levels go down. But your skin definitely needs hydration from the inside too. Make sure you are drinking at least 8 glasses of water per day.
Exfoliate Your Skin
It's important to renew the skin on your body by getting rid of dead skin cells. Scrub away those dry patches by using a body exfoliator to ensure a super smooth canvas.
Don't Take Hot Baths
Hot showers and baths always feel good in the winter, but when you can, particularly when just washing your face or hands, choose lukewarm water to avoid stripping as many oils away from the skin.
Keep Your Tanning Up
Finally, just because it's winter - doesn't mean you shouldn't tan! A tan will help add a small amount of colour to our pale skin. Glowy Babe, vegan self tanning mousse comes in 4 shades, so no matter what the season, you can find a tan to compliment your skin tone. If you usually use a dark tan in the summer months, we recommend using one shade up to medium, in the winter, to keep a very natural looking tan.
